Built for the Nigerian market

Nigeria is Africa’s largest financial-services market, and the Central Bank of Nigeria licenses a broad set of institutions: commercial banks, microfinance banks, payment service banks, and mobile-money operators. Each carries distinct capital and reporting rules that a core platform must accommodate.

Payments in Nigeria are dominated by instant bank transfers (NIP) and a fast-growing agent-banking layer via OPay, PalmPay, Moniepoint, and Paga. Sika’s ledger is idempotent and holds under high transaction volume, and its payment layer is built so each new rail plugs in per country.

KYC in Nigeria centres on the NIN and BVN. Sika’s national-ID layer is pluggable per country, so a Nigerian deployment can verify NINs the same way a Ghanaian one verifies the Ghana Card. The platform is built for more than one country from day one.

Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)

Sika already runs tiered KYC, AML and sanctions screening, maker-checker segregation of duties, immutable audit logs, and reporting. Before going live in Nigeria, we confirm the full CBN requirements with our first partner institution.
